Pair and Share Reading

On Friday, June 8, we visited Mrs. Delk's first grade class, to read with her students.  Everyone did a great job reading, and my students were surprised at how much they actually enjoyed reading to the younger students!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Raleigh Field Trip

 

 

Fourth grade took their annual field trip to Raleigh.  We visited the Legislative Building, NC History Museum, Museum of Science, and the Capitol Building.  The students really enjoyed the sites, but it was a tiring day.  Lots of walking!

 

Thank You Intracoastal Realty!

I applied for a grant from Intracoastal Realty, to buy critical thinking/problem solving activities, mainly for my math students.  I am proud to say that they gave me the grant, and I have purchased some fun activities for the students.  Here are some pictures of students at "work" using our new materials.  Thanks to Intracoastal Realty for providing the funds to purchase these materials.

 

 

Spelling Bee Participants

I forgot to mention our six students that participated in the school spelling bee.  They represented our class well, and I am very proud of them.  Congratulations on a job well done!!

China!!

Here are the first pictures from Ms. Costner, in China!  I have taken parts of her emails and put them in the blog, so you will know where she has been.  Enjoy!   "Today, we are visiting the Forbidden City. Navigating around China is so difficult!

"I've had some good food and some bad food here. One night at dinner, they brought a dead fish out to our table to approve it and then cooked it and we ate it! It still had the head on, but it was delicious. It was covered in sweet and sour sauce!"
